“April Showers” is the final song on the EP and features Dwight Junior and J. Roadhan and signifies “the fact that you’ll have hardships. You’ll have times in your life that seem like nothing is working out, but you go through all of these things because God is trying to build you for a better season.” Without the necessary showers that come in April, the plants and flowers do not bloom in May.

Yaves says that one important thing that influences his music and his mentality is that God has designed him to be more than just a rapper. He is very involved in his community.

“Rap is such a small part of what God has called me to do so I’m trying to grow a legacy so thirty years from now when my kids or grandkids are around, I’ve left a huge imprint in my community as well as the nation.”

On June 2nd, National Gun Awareness Day, Yaves went to a march with the mayor of Columbus to protest and raise awareness for issues of gun violence.

“That’s what I’m here for, that what I do, and that’s why I do this music. I know that it’s bigger than rapping. Its bigger than jumping on stage and getting the crowd hype. We’re dealing with people’s lives here.”

Yaves plans to release a full studio album this year. He and Dwight Junior are the only artists on his label, Sling Shot Movement, but “pretty soon you’ll see a reemergence of some other artists I’ve been working with.”
