Yaves has many other artist featured on his new EP, and says “When I do what I do with my project, I only collaborate with artists that I feel like I’m fans of in a sense. Selah The Corner, I’ve been a fan of his music for a long time and we had a chance to meet when I was in New York.”

“I had a record that I had been working on for a while with Dre Murray called “Survival” and the record was kind of perfect because I’m always talking about what’s going on around me personally and around the world.”

He says that in Christian Hip-Hop many artists seem like they don’t want to attach themselves to Christianity or to the issues of their local communities. He says that in communities, especially those facing hardship, everyone needs the love of Christ to not just survive, but to live full lives.

“I tried to write the song based on the needs of the people around me, the needs of the community, and what I felt like believers needed to be encountered with.”
