It seems that the Midwest has been making a lot of noise in the past year with in the HHH (Holy Hip Hop) community; from K‐Drama to D‐Maub and now the “young veteran” Yaves, who is commonly known as The Street Pastor. With the still growing success of his most recent mixtape effort, entitiled “Prince Among Thieves”; (which recently received the nomination of Mixtape of The Year by Kingsrowe.Com) Yaves continues to work as he brings us a project that is sure to leave its mark on hearts and blog sites alike.
On this new found journey of the sounds, this “Audio Diary”, takes you through his shoes as an inner city teenager dropped into a new environment as he is placed into a new school in the suburbs. The mixture between where he is from, and where he now resides, creates a montage of originality that sets him into a class of his own. You hear the eclectic struggle of a child torn between the temptations of the music industry that is courting him, and the call of ministry that God had already ordained for him since birth.
The genius of this project is greater than the flawless delivery and mesmerizing production, because it is rooted in the transparency that is displayed in picturesque story telling that Yaves divulges over the beats.
