Yaboi Tre, a positive/gospel rapper, was born and raised in Birmingham AL. He started rapping in 1985, fulfilling what has always been a dream of his. His message changed from negative to positive after obeying the gospel. As Tre put it, “God gave him a wakeup call.” He was converted to the gospel on January 30, 2005. Since then, he’s been dedicated and sincere about his walk with the Lord, and began positive/gospel rapping, in order to reach those outside of Christ.
Soon after, he started teaching, preaching, and became active in many ministries; including his rap ministry. He learned self-discipline, when he served in the US Armed Forces, and patience through working as the youth minister at his home congregation.
He is a talented song writer and singer, who has also written congregational hymns. His goal is to seek and save lost souls, as well as educate, inspire, and motivate others to do the same. Tre was inspired through the scriptures “never to allow his talent to go to waste.”
As he continued to study GOD’s Word, he began to write lyrics to his first project, “Yaboi Tre presents …Strengthen Thy Brethren”. He has humbly completed this album in 2008, and has countless amounts of cd’s sold independently. He is now in the process of finalizing his sophomore album, “Storms of Life”, which is expected to be independently released in early 2009. |
