He believes that he could make tons of money if he made music videos for mainstream artists, but is concerned about the potential damage of the songs that he would be supporting. “The problem I have, secular people are not evil, [and] they’re not bad. I don’t believe that Nicki Minaj or Drake or Lil’ Wayne wakes up each morning saying, ‘How can I destroy the youth? How can I lead them to Hell?’”
He feels that if he were to make videos for many secular hip-hop artists, he would be helping them to mislead people. He thinks that it is a case-by-case basis, but he wants to be careful about working with secular artists whose music carries bad messages.
“As a Christian, my personal belief is going to show, somewhere, somehow. Hopefully you’ll gather [from my videos] that this dude believes in Jesus or he has strong Christian values.”
He has been contacted by people representing artists such as 2 Chainz, T.I., and Flo Rida to make videos for them, but has turned down all offers.
“Flo Rida offered me a lot of money, a lot of money [emphasis], and a plane ticket, and a house, and a car to move down to the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area.”
They [Flo Rida’s people] offered Will Thomas a job, would “pay me way more money than I’m making now… I said no.” He wants people to know that he will stand up for what he believes in and will not submit to helping harmful artists, even if they pay him way more money that he could make from doing Christian hip-hop music videos.
