One of the most heartfelt songs on The Waiting Room is “Ready,” featuring Dimitri McDowell. In the first verse, Lee speaks about the hurt that he has due to the death of his father, especially in knowing that his children will not have the opportunity to get to know their grandfather.
“The hook is talking to death like, ‘I know you’re coming, but I’m not afraid.’”
The second verse says…
“You take on every soul and only see wins, we got no way to defend, but hey Death, please know, we won’t have much to grieve for, when all your wins are repo-ed, and the Reaper reaps what he sowed. I ain’t gon’ run from you, what I got to flee for? Did it hurt your self-esteem when you heard your sting was no more?”
