Dishon’s Debut EP titled “Transparency: The Great Oppression” tells the people about a time when he was lost. It also gives vivid details of a time when he fell hard as a immature Christian. He became oppressed by the world, blinded to the truth and eventually ended up living for things of the world. Nevertheless it is by grace through faith that he has been saved. Dishon says “I had to do this EP to show everyone where I came from. I don’t think that most Hip Hop artists are transparent enough. They just do what they think is cool because everyone else is doing it. This gives us a false image of who they really are. This album shows that even as a Christian you can fall…we all fall short of Gods glory!
I just wanted to keep it real with my people. Sin struggle is real in our community as well as the world but there is hope for us all. I also wanted to show the non believers that I can relate to them. We are all messed up! believers and non believers. I wanted to reach out to them…they should know that we care about them. I’m here for them.” Dishon and his team plan on releasing the EP on January 8th 2013. This EP will be followed up with “The Road Home” which will also be released in 2013. “The Road Home” is said to have more theology and sound doctrine. Its point of focus will be on love, redemption, and grace.
