Tragic Hero was homeless for a time as an adult. “I had nothing to my name and I was really humbled by the fact that I had to go back [to] move in with my family, my parents.” The day he moved in, his belongings that he moved into his mother’s house were outside and rain started pouring. “I looked at it and remembered, wow, God is really, really teaching me a lesson.” He said that a few months later he was able to purchase a house without having a job. He said that he doesn’t deserve to live in it, but believes that the ability to buy a house was a gift from God.
“Me being in this house, it’s God’s grace. I don’t deserve none of it.”

He started writing raps around the age of fourteen. He helped his father who rented out houses clean a house after a tenant left and found a notebook with lyrics. He shared the raps with his friends at school, but believed that he could do better writing his own raps.
“I love doing music. I love writing.”
