No. 1 is Mark Of The East (Released in 1999) – If you ask anyone who has followed CHH since the 90s, this album will come up as a first recollection of the modern day compilation. There was nothing like it when it came out. It was raw. It was real. And it was rockin’. Pull it out today, and it still goes hard. Standout performances by Corey Red, A.D.F., MC Precise, and Lower Deck set this one apart.
Honorable Mentions: If this were a Top 15 or 20 list, it would also include some of the releases by Uprok Records, who was instrumental in releasing several mixtape compilations, mixed by DJs.
As I’ve pulled these classic collections out and gave them a listen, it’s nice to see and hear where Christian Hip Hop has evolved. I pray that like these artists from back then, we never lose sight of a pioneering spirit, not conforming to what’s popular, but flow with what God has put on the inside of us.

Man, I love this list. I actually own must of these joints. Mark Of The East would be number one for me too. That joint really does go hard!
I could only name about 3 on the list, but its amazing to see where we have come from. To God be the Glory!
