Two of my dear brothers from The ATX (Austin, Texas) had placed on Facebook their Top Christian Hip Hop Albums of all time. Well, I was inspired to do something similar but with the focus being on compilations/mixtapes. I have always been a HUGE fan of these types of projects because they are ideal for introducing people to the amazing artists we have in CHH and also not to mention being great tools for evangelism.
So, without further ado, here are my picks for the Top Ten Christian Hip Hop Compilation/Mixtapes that helped shape the genre.
No. 10 is Coalition – The Hip Hop Alliance (Released in 2000). It was one of the first CHH compilations released by a major Christian record label (ForeFront). Artists like New Breed, Camp Quest, and 4th Avenue Jones made this one a classic.
Man, I love this list. I actually own must of these joints. Mark Of The East would be number one for me too. That joint really does go hard!
I could only name about 3 on the list, but its amazing to see where we have come from. To God be the Glory!
