#5. Long Live the King

King James, that is.  LeBron James and his Miami Heat teammates captured their second consecutive NBA title, defeating the San Antonio Spurs in seven games.  The series featured several memorable moments but none bigger than was has been dubbed, “The Headband Game.”  In Game Six of the Finals, James lost his trademark headband during a frenetic Heat comeback early in the fourth quarter.  James went sans headband for the remainder of the game and finished with a triple-double, but Ray Allen will likely be remembered as the savior of the Heat’s title dreams.  With NBA security surrounding the court in preparation for a Spurs title celebration, the man who played Jesus Shuttlesworth in Spike Lee’s film, He Got Game, delivered a game-tying three pointer to send the game into overtime.  The Heat went on to win the game and Game Seven to capture back-to-back crowns.
