The pioneering pastor, author, and artist Tommy “Urban D.” Kyllonen recently signed a publishing deal for his upcoming book tentatively titled Re.Build – Your Life, Your Family, Your City. The new book will give people tools to rebuild their brokenness and focus on rebuilding others around them. Several powerful stories from Tommy’s personal life and ministry are shared including his church’s incredible journey of rebuilding a 43,000 square foot Toys R’ Us building in the heart of Tampa’s urban community. The Biblical thread of the story of Nehemiah is weaved through the book as Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem physically, spiritually, and economically.

The new book will be released in October of 2015, just in time for the 15th annual Flavor Fest Urban Leadership Conference, hosted at Tommy’s church in Tampa, Florida. This year’s theme is “Re.Build.” Urban D. will also be releasing his final full-length album (his 8th project) at the same time, with the same title. The project will feature songs with the same titles and concepts as the book chapters. The physical version of the album will also feature a full-length documentary (Space Cherry Films) about Crossover Church and their unique ministry of rebuilding people in the urban community. Tommy’s church will launch a six-week “Re.Build” message series from the new book in February 2016 and invite other churches to join them, as they will provide free small group curriculum, video content, and message outlines.
