One of Robinson’s favorite songs from Heard Not Seen II is “theSea,” featuring Lizi Bailey. The song is inspired by the story of Peter attempting to walk on water in chapter fourteen of the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus is walking on water and calls out one of his disciples, Peter, to come to him and walk on the water.

Peter begins to walk on the water, but then the wind came and fear took over him, and he began to sink. Robinson says that many preachers claim that Peter sunk because he did not have strong enough faith, but this song shares a different perspective.

“None of us are Jesus. That’s why Peter needed to focus on Jesus. The truth is, all of us are going to sink at some point, or at some points over and over again. Life is tough and nobody walks through life like Jesus.”

The song says that though we fail and sink, we need to continue to reach out to Jesus for help, which is what Peter did when he began to sink.

Robinson said that if he could only select four songs from his new album for a person to listen to, he would want them to hear “theBottom,” “theReason,” “theSea,” and “theHope (Ghetto Heaven).” He wants the listener to hear these songs to understand and appreciate the diversity in his musical style and because he believes that they are the most impactful and can help a person understand the difficulties he faces.
