Well, it had to be done! I learned of this song “The God In Me” off of Mary Mary’s latest release “The Sound” not too long ago from many people who know me, then for my own ears (yes, I BOUGHT the album for my wife) and then from many others after that. Being that I’m known through my music on a certain level nationwide/ worldwide by the name “the God In Me” b.k.a. “Tha GIM” (pronounced: the gem), I started asking around within my industry circle about any connect they might have to the artists or producer of the track for a hopeful official remix with me as the emcee, two people close to me know the producer (…get back still pending, Lol.). Then I began searching for an instrumental for the song to do something with it and just get it out of my system. Unfortunately the places I found it where exclusive to DJ’s. Fortunately though, music is about creativity and being innovative, so I ended up chopping and looping together an instrumental of my own from the actual original song and then just came from the heart and let the pen flow in the spirit. You’ll hear a shout out to Mary Mary (who I was blessed to meet at a concert they did that I was in, i.e. the picture in the art work) and a shout out to Warryn Campbell, the talented producer behind this production and the whole Mary Mary sound along with many other production credits.
