Bio/Notes: Before acknowledging God’s call to ministry, Elder Spencer’s life began to mirror his father’s background. Before he was conceived, his father had been incarcerated for attempted murder and numerous bank robberies.  Soon, he found himself engaging in similar activity, including robbery, promoting prostitution, selling drugs and gun fights with rival enemies.  His association in such activity eventually landed him a sentence of 12 years in prison for attempted murder.  However, in this particular incident, he did not pull the trigger and was faced with the decision to keep quiet and take the time for his friend or tell the truth and be set free.
It was in prison that Elder Spencer remembered a prayer he prayed to God one night that stated, “God if you are real, force me out of this lifestyle because I can’t stop by myself.”  It was obvious that by telling the truth, he would be labeled a “snitch” back in his neighborhood and never trusted or accepted by his peers.  The positive side to telling the truth was the opportunity for his prayer to be answered and God delivering him from that lifestyle forever.  After making the decision to tell the truth, Elder Spencer was released from prison and back in a neighborhood that hated him for his decision.

                                    THE NAME T.E.P.H.
The summer of his release, Elder Spencer was faced with four near-death experiences that were all related to his decision to tell the truth. Close friends started calling him TEPHLON because he would wear a bulletproof vest wherever he traveled.  On three separate occasions, he was involved in gun fights but did not get shot.  The last near-death experience happened a month later when two robbers with masks entered his house, put a gun to his head and took his safe.  Elder Spencer knew God was trying to get his attention, so he stopped using the name TEPHLON as a way to give God the glory for still being alive.  In his new life, the name was shortened to T.E.P.H. which describes his ministry and persona in four words; Teacher-Entertainer-Prophet-Humble.

Now T.E.P.H. aims to be the Tyler Perry of Rap music.  He’s intent on taking positive, Christian music to the next level by delivering a real message that everyone can relate to and inspiring generations.

T.E.P.H. is also an ordained Elder at Rehoboth World Healing Center in Portland Oregon, under the leadership of Pastor Derrick Traylor. Below is a link to a sermon T.E.P.H. preached recently titled: “I NEED HELP”  I pray is blessed you!
