“Know It’s Real” featuring John Givez and Charlene Nash, talks about the internal struggle of having two sides; one side of you wants to live openly, honestly, and transparently, to be real, while the other side wants to shut down the real you.

“Whatever it is that is making you scared of living openly, Know It’s Real is the record in which I am discussing my own navigation of that issue.”

Charlene Nash is an up and coming Toronto singer that Shopé reached out to, thinking her voice would be a good fit for the song. He has done a few shows with John Givez and the Dream Junkies and has gotten to know them. He wanted to add John Givez to take it to the next level, as well as thinking that John’s soul rebel identity fits well with the concept of his album.

In his music video there are two characters, one of which is Shopé and the other one is coming to harm Shopé.

“We end the video on a cliffhanger because we know that is an ongoing thing for a lot of people.”

He wants people to think to themselves what will happen if they do or do not defeat their fears or not in their personal battles.
