Serene said he lost sight of the reason that he made music until he met up with fellow London hip-hop artist S.O. during a time when he was in Los Angeles.
“It kind of sparked a love for it again.”
He understood that the message of his music is bigger than him and has the potential to impact people.
“Daniel” was the last song that Serene finished for the EP. He and his producer GP were trying to find a good song to be the intro to the project. “It had been such a long time since I had put out any music I wanted to share where I was and where I’ve been and talk about the fact that I had certain expectations with the music and it didn’t fall through [did not come to fruition]. Because of that I took a step back but now I’m here. I’ve got that flame reignited.”
He wanted the music video for “Daniel” to be in a natural, serene setting and to be thought provoking “in terms of the sunset and the beach and all of those places where you kind of want to go to think and contemplate.” There were a few clips in the video with a young child, Serene’s nephew, talking to him, Uncle Daniel.

Good Interview Serene, good to see someone from the UK on here. Would be good for JTH to get some interviews from other UK artist like Guvna B, Dwayne Tryumf, Melvillous, Rain Freedom.
