Samsung has announced a new line of headphones that will likely draw comparisons to Apple’s Beats. Level features a retro style and seems to be targeted to the exact demographic that is marketed for the Beats. Along with the over the ear headphones, there is also a Bluetooth box and in ear headphones.
Samsung’s top-of-the-line wireless Bluetooth headphones, the Level Over ($349.99), compares to Beats’ Studio Wireless headphones ($379.95).
Taking a step down, the Level On ($179.99), can be compared to the Beats Solo ($199.95). The wireless Bluetooth Level Box ($299.99) falls into the same category as the wireless Bluetooth Beats Pill ($199.95).
Moving to the bottom tier, Samsung’s Level line: The Level, in-ear wired earphones ($149.99), are similar to Beats’ in-ear wired earphone offerings, the Powerbeats and the Tour (both $149.95 each).
The look of the headphones is nothing new. Its minimalistic and features a lot of the same designs as standard headphones.
Samsung has had a ‘Copy Apple’ strategy for awhile, and this seems to be growing their trend in doing so.
Availability for Samsung’s Level headphones will be exclusive to Gilt beginning on Thursday, with Amazon and Best Buy offering the Level on July 20 and 27, respectively.
