To live big and dream bigger…. That’s the philosophy behind the man known as Relikis and his music.
“For Nothing Is Impossible With God” as Relikis quotes his favorite scripture Luke 1:37.
“I’ve always believed that whole heartedly and it always meant a great deal to me, because I grew up in very pessimistic surroundings in my city, and at times in my own family. And in a place where it felt like there was no hope…Hope was given to me to me with that scripture verse right there. That gave me the strong belief that I could be a leader in this hurting world. And be able to point listeners in the direction of Christ. I’ve had friends, and family members pass away sadly, because they felt like they had nothing else on this earth to live for and had lost all hope. So they decided to take matters into their own hands. And now they are a memory of a lost loved one..
I have personally made it my goal, and the goal of my music to infect people’s mentality with positivity, hope and Christlikeness”
How I got my start in music- Relikis started doing music and performing at the age of 14. Whether it was doing shows and ministering at local youth facilities, or going to churches and schools, he was involved in it from a young age. “I felt the calling of the Lord upon my life, to use my gift of music that He gave me for the good of the Kingdom. And especially in my surroundings, because I went to a public high school. Where a huge majority listen to all secular hip-hop and rap music.” says Relikis. It wasn’t until after he graduated high school that Relikis started doing music professionally at the age of 18 and started in the music ministry. Since the release of his debut album back in 2006 entitled “Soulja City”. Relikis has had national as well international success on radio and on the radio charts. Garnering him two number 1# radio singles to date on the Radio and Records chart, with the songs “I Stand Alone” and “Don’t Think About It”. Having 2 additional singles from the same album with the songs “Do What You Do” and “Top Prospect”. Winning a 2007 best rap song of the year award in the New Mexico Music Awards. Opening up for musical acts such as ‘Mercy Me’, ‘The Cross Movement’ ‘Grits’ and ‘Manafest’ to name a few. And going on a 2008 summer tour with the pop/soul singer BeckahShae. Also in 2008 Relikis gained some mainstream success with the sneak peak single, with the song “In My Heart” from his upcoming 2011 album entitled “I Am Relikis”.
Church/Pastor- Relikis now resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico after living in Nashville, Tennessee for a couple years. He is helps out in his local community by doing outreaches and special concert events at youth facilities and churches.
He currently attends church at calvary of Albuquerque, where Skip Heitzig is the head pastor.
Last but no least, Relikis states.. “I’m humbled by my opportunity of being able to lead others to Christ. And my hope and passion is for a revived and spirit filled generation. That is my ultimate goal, both as a man sent and music created. Ultimately glorifying Jesus Christ”
