Yes, I LOVE SPORTS!!!
I’m from The Bronx so of course I root for the Yankees. I support the hometown Knicks and I am a citizen of the one and only nation….#RAIDER NATION!!! I scream at the T.V as if the players can hear me & I always think the refs are cheating. During games, I’m known to terrorize timelines with my tweets & scientific theories as to why “my team is the best.” (@ComedianChris BEWARE!!!)
However, when a fan’s identification with a team/athlete moves beyond friendly differences of opinions, into the realm of heated arguments, verbal disrespect and even fisticuffs, a line has definitely been crossed.
Now as a man, if your willing to destroy a relationship with someone you “know”, because they exercise their free-will to feel a way about a people that you “don’t even know”, you are no longer a fan, but a worshipper! Not only don’t you know them, but these people don’t even “know you exist.”
If your behavior exhibits a habitual pattern of emotional distress and potential violence towards human beings because “YOUR” team lost, you need to check yourself. You ready to do time in prison because a group of millionaires lost a game? If you can’t control yourself, if prayer doesn’t help, than I suggest a psychiatric evaluation, so we can get to the root of your psychosis!!!
What are the causes of such bizarre behavior?
Though I’m extremely tempted to go off on a tangent and carry you away with me to the land of psycho-babble….I won’t. I’ll simply leave you with two pieces of food for thought.
1) Let’s continue to have fun and enjoy the experience of cheering our teams on in proper context. Remembering, that the establishment uses professional sports in America to distract the male populace from the real issues that affect our lives. This distraction helps produce a collection of self-absorbed, passive men who will never unify and intelligently disrupt the present social order.
2) Since the end of WWII, the powers that be have been meticulous and very successful in their social engineering and domestication of the American male. In 2012, innumerable schemes have produced a nation saturated with confused and emasculated men who are tormented with an enormous feeling of “powerlessness”.
Men who “feel” powerless will do all sorts of things to feel powerful. Usually expressed through the domination of men, woman and children around them. Be it mentally, physically or sexually.
Often, men who feel powerless seek to identify with men they deem powerful. Socializing with local gangsters, identifying with their favorite rappers, actors, action-heroes, celebrities etc. To combat this feeling of powerlessness, many men chose the “adrenaline rush” experience of victory & power felt as they become “one” with their favorite athletes/teams. #TRUE_STORY
MY AMERICAN BROTHERS!!!!
Allow me to encourage you. If you want to shake that sense of powerlessness that we all tend to feel from time to time for whatever reason, you don’t have to seek domination over another person. You don’t have to seek Hero-Worship-Identification. You don’t have to mimic and emulate your favorite public-personality. All you have to do is SEEK GOD!!!
Allow the one who created man to show you how to be a man in every sense of the word. Allow your sense of validation, qualification and self-worth to be defined by your fellowship with Almighty God.
Submit to God and experience true POWER!!!!
As we do this, our participation and beholding of the sports we love will be a most fulfilling experience!!!!!
