2. There seems to be a freedom in the scriptures. Church organ music alone is not the sixth sola! We are not saved by our disdain for hip-hop in addition to grace by faith in Christ. Colossians 3:16 and Ephesians 5:19 give guidelines to uses of music in The New Testament. However, it doesn’t speak exactly to cultural adaptation. Christian hip-hop artist Ambassador addresses this topically beautifully in the song, “My Clothes, My Hair.” In other words, if hip-hop passes the Colossians and Ephesians test, I don’t see a reason to exclude it.
Chris I love your viewpoints…nice post
Very good article. I really think that Christian rap is a incredible and viable vehicle of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I truly believe that these young men and women can spread the gospel of Jesus Christto people all around the world . As a matter fact, it’s already been done by people like Lecrae, flame, ambassador and truth . I think that the use of the words is so powerful that Christian rap can make such a tremendous impact on the world.
