Principal photography starts on April 25 for the film which would be a definitive documentary featuring over 30 Christian hip-hop artists.

Rochester, NY – Principal photography starts April 25 for the documentary film MAKING JESUS FAMOUS: LIFE BEHIND THE JESUS MUZIK. The definitive documentary feature film will describe Christian rap and its place in hip-hop culture where you hear from over 30 different artists, producers, DJ’s, and promoters. This documentary explores the history of Christian hip-hop culture and how it has evolved to become a major cultural voice and what the artists have to say about the distinction from controversial images and negative reputation. Interview subjects range from pioneer rappers, such as Mike Peace and Todd Bangz, as well as a drove of others and surprise guests. They get a true perspective of what it means to live as a Christian rap artist in a world surrounded by everyday pressures and what is being done to affect society. This is not a movie about making music; it’s a movie about making Jesus famous.

An Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will launch on May 2, 2015. The producers plan to finish the film by Labor Day 2015 and seek distribution for theatrical release in 2016. For more information, visit
