“I started rapping through my sister. My sister used to rap as well and she got me into music… I used to hear her rapping and be like, ‘I want to do that.’”
Presha J started writing raps at the age of twelve and would go to his sister to critique his lyrics and she told him that he should write from his heart. “At that time when I was involved in my madness, I was rapping about nonsense that I was doing.”
In October, Presha J released a new EP, The Traveller’s Guide. The inspiration for the theme is from Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” The music is based on things that Presha J has seen, heard, and experienced. In the EP there is a character travelling on a journey, and each stop on the way presents the person with challenges and trials. During the journey, the character is on a quest to find out who they are, who they want to be, and discover their journey’s purpose.
