This Easter and Passover season it is with heavy hearts that we find out about a new attack on Christians in the country of Kenya.  Kenya is one of the few countries in the world that shows up on our radar here at Jam the Hype with significant interest in Christian hip hop.  We even play a couple of Kenyan artists on the air on our radio broadcast.  As the end times draw near, the church will continue to come under pressure and persecution.  We can only pray and remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:11-12 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” And also Jesus said, “They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God” John 16:2.

Please put it on your prayer list to pray for the families of the Christian students who were murdered. Also pray for the country of Kenya and its leaders, and the leaders of the university and the students.  Most of all pray for the perpetrators of this crime, because like Saul in Acts, they thought they were doing something to honor God, but Jesus revealed himself to Saul.  Even one of the perpetrators coming to know Jesus could result in massive change that could affect the region and the world.

For a better understanding of how God can forgive people, read the story of Saul in the Bible in Acts 8 and 9.
