What happens when you take seven people, all with different backgrounds and musical preferences, and inject and unite them with love for Jesus and for people? Heavy worship. That’s WatersEdge as a band. The fiery passion in their music is only a reflection of the lives that they live off stage and outside the studio. They are based out of the mid-west city of Omaha, NE and are the lead worship team at G2:20 and the annual RTK Conferences. With a desire to stretch boundaries and break stereotypes, WatersEdge consistently takes a sledgehammer to the box of what people say worship music should sound like. “Worship is a lifestyle, not a specific musical genre. It cannot be defined by certain guitar tones and drum cadences,” says rap vocalist of WatersEdge, J. Crum, “Its a lot like love, it cannot defined by an act. Its a matter of the heart of the person.”
When your hear that hip-hop, metal, rock, indie, and pop styles are all together in one band. you’d think it’d be chaotic and forced, but just like the body of Christ when working in unity these styles only compliment and strengthen the other. Their newest album, “When Arson Is Not A Crime” is no exception. From the pop driven “Glad to Say” to the the hip-hop banger of “Alive” all the way to the metal anthem of “Monuments, along with awesome features from Swift, K-Drama, Andy Atkins of Plea For Purging, Mattie Montgomery of For Today and more, you can be sure that this album has something for everybody.
WatersEdge is just a group of ordinary young people who were radically changed by the love of Jesus. Their desire is to help invade the hearts of this generation with the same love that changed them. They’ve come too far to turn back now, burned too many bridges, they cannot return to normal anymore. For them, the only way is forward. Join them in their pursuit for Christ. Lets set the world on fire. This is the soundtrack to the revolution.
The “When Arson Is Not A Crime” drops October 16th and will be available on all major digital distribution sites. Check out the single “Alive” ft. K-Drama and Lee Green below.
