The ear pain
“Lord have mercy on me, for I am suffering.” About a week after my surgery I started having this terrible pain in my right ear. All I could do was take pain medicine, put an ice pack on my ear, and lie down feeling sorry for myself. When the ear pain struck, which routinely occurred soon after I woke up, it crippled me from doing anything, even watching TV. It came like sudden stabs every few seconds that made my whole body twitch. I had planned to go back to school three weeks after my injury, on Sunday, March 13th, but the Saturday before then I had this terrible pain and it lasted for over an hour. Usually it would go away about fifteen minutes after taking pain medicine, but not this time. So I pushed back the day I would go back to school until Tuesday, the 15th. My first few days back at school were very difficult.
