On February 17, Dee-1 released his 3’s Up EP via RCA Records. The “Against Us”-emcee has received support for the project from two of hip-hop’s most recognizable names, Lupe Fiasco and David Banner.

Dee-1 went on Lupe Fiasco’s “Tetsuo & Youth Preview Tour” in 2013.

“Touring is my favorite part of this industry,” Dee-1 said in a 2013 press release. “Plus Lupe is like a big brother, so going on tour together is going to be exciting. I look forward [to] the experience.”

Fiasco recorded an interlude for Dee-1’s 2013 mixtape, Psalms of David II. Lupe Fiasco continues to show Dee-1 love. The Chicago, Illinois-lyricist is known for social commentary so it’s not odd that he would support his fellow community activist Dee-1.

Mississippi-rapper David Banner, who is also consistently involved in his community, has a friendship with Dee-1 and is proud of him.

“YAYUH!! *Banner Voice* Thanks big homie, for the revolutionary-gangsta-intellectual support,” Dee-1 said in an Instagram post responding to David Banner’s support of 3’s Up. “That last verse on ‘The Sway Interview’ song on the EP is about you. Remember that convo when you first called me?”
