Legit “We Got A Lot To Think About”

Lacey Nathaniel Jackson (born December 20, 1990) is a  Christian rapper from Ohio.As a rapper, he performs under the mononym Legit. Lacey was born in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Eddie Wayne Jackson, a bus driver who played high-school basketball with heavyweight boxer James “Buster” Douglas, the fighter who put an end to Mike Tysons undefeated boxing career in 1990 . His mother Karen Jackson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Wright State University.  His parents divorced when he was young so most of his childhood was spit between seeing his mother in the suburbs or outskirts of Columbus, and his father deep in the inner-city. As a child Legit was introduced to the “Christian” way of life during his stays with his mother. As a child he spent most of his time in choir practice or observing some sort of sermon at New Zion Baptist Church. Though he was heavenly influenced by the church Lacey seemed to always find himself in troubling situations during his stay with his father. From fighting with kids in his neighborhood to fighting at school he always seemed to wind up on the wrong side of a bad situation. Lacey’s experienced one of his most tragic incidents at the age 12 when his mother Karen died suddenly of cardiac arrest. After his mother passed away Lacey began to stay permanently with his father in the city. To avoid trouble for Lacey and his siblings, Mr. Jackson moved out into the Pickerington, Ohio a suburb of Columbus far away from the troubles of the city and into a school district which would prepare his children for a possible college education. Lacey moved out to Pickerington in the seventh grade and nearly simultaneously picked up the sport of football. All the way up from junior-high through high-school he played offensive line and because of his success he garnered a scholarship to go to Findlay University and soon transfered to Walsh University. Legit is currently a student at Walsh double majoring in Government and Foreign Affairs & International Relations.

Lacey Jackson A.K.A. Legit is a Christian rapper whose focus is to introduce Christian Rap to the secular community. With his lyrical style of rapping Legit intends to jump into the realm of secular music with a sound that all people can listen to and understand. As of today Legit has recorded four Christian rap songs so if you are a fan now then you are enjoying one of  Christian Rap’s soon to be superstars at his earliest stage of development in the mainstream music society. Legit defines his goals and dreams for his musical career as a direct reflection of the will God has for his life. Though he is yet to achieve many of the things he is capable of doing he welcomes you on his journey to fulfill Gods plan for his life and challenges you to to be “Legit” in your walk with Jesus Christ. Legit’s is often found saying “It is not the voice of a man that defines his love for God as genuine, but it is the love found in the heart of  that man, and later reflected in his lifestyle that will grant him a key to the gates of heaven.”
