The Christian hip-hop community won big at the 46th Annual GMA Dove Awards, which took place on October 13 at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Derek Minor, and others associated with Christian hip-hop took home 2015 Dove Awards.

Lecrae became the first hip-hop artist to win a Dove Award for Artist of the Year. Crae was nominated alongside Christian music heavy hitters for KING & COUNTRY, Francesca Battistelli, Kari Jobe, and MercyMe. Creezy also won awards for Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year (“All I Need is You”) and Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year (‘Anomaly’).

In addition, Washington Heights, NYC-based emcee Andy Mineo took home a trophy for Short Form Video of the Year (“You Can’t Stop Me”) (director & producer – Kyle Dettman).
