Dallas based hip-hop ministry, Mixtape Ministries, just released their debut album with four faith-based features from the legendary hip-hop icon Layzie Bone and others, such as Benjah and PyRexx. Layzie Bone, a believer himself, endorsed and blessed Mixtape Ministries’ mission and album by delivering four features of lyrical perfection and harmony to further the kingdom of Jesus Christ. Mixtape Ministries is a non-profit hip-hop ministry that prints and presses thousands of faith-based mixtapes each month and then distributes them for free in the streets of Texas.
By using distribution channels such as barbershops, clothing stores, churches, youth groups, and even prisons, Mixtape Ministries is spreading the good news about Jesus Christ one disciple at a time through hip-hop. Mixtape Ministries caught on to how influential hip-hop is in today’s contemporary culture, so what better way to reach the lost then promoting Christ through quality hip-hop music? While spreading the word about Christ is the goal of the ministry, they also want to use their ministry to help faith-based artists and musicians get there music out to the people who are in need. In secular mainstream hip-hop, mixtape DJs such as DJ Screw, DJ Drama, Michael Watts, OG Ron C, and many others, have distributed millions of mixtapes with compilations from current and up and coming artists. Mixtape Ministries hopes to be as effective and relevant but in a way that’s honoring and promoting Jesus Christ. Mixtape Ministries began as just a strategy and tool for co-owner Clay G to fight the devil and spiritual warfare.
The album is available on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon.com. All proceeds go to fund the duplication, distribution, and shipping of current and future mixtapes. They want everyone to get the opportunity to hear the album, so if you are not financially able to purchase it online, send them an email and they will email it to you for free.
