Stage name: King David Record Label: Unsigned Bio: King David (Jeremiah A. Bligen) was raised in an indigent Gullah community in John Island’s, South Carolina. His childhood was filled with pain and abuse. Although he was reared in church, it wasn’t until he was 16 that he fully yielded his life to Christ.
One needs only to listen to the words of any of King David’s songs to hear and feel his passion for Jesus Christ and his people. His songs range from intense and challenging to fun and energetic. King David is a skillful, charismatic lyricist, who brings words to life with a masterful use of metaphors.
Bringing the scripture alive with rap is undeniably King David’s artistry. “What I do is edify, exhort, rebuke, reproof, encourage, speak truth and testify through the art of rap. I am a minister of the Gospel who uses rap as one of his tools to convey the message of Jesus Christ. Everyone else may call it what they want, but I call it Worship, and Ministry. I speak well of God through my musical testimonies and proclamations. I believe I was put here to make a change, to provoke a whole generation of saved youth to bold holiness and to lead a forsaken generation of sinners to Christ by motivating them to beat the stat quo and submit to the savior. His Kingdom come, his will be done, on earth…”
