Besides being an artist on Lamp Mode Recordings, Json is also the record label’s president. In his role he oversees budgets, project rollouts, and helping with the branding of his label and its artists.

“It’s a lot of work but its something I enjoy doing and its been a pleasure to be able to do it.”

Json says that each of the many artists on the label is working on new music. Timothy Brindle is almost finished with an album and is writing a book to accompany it. Hazakim is finishing a project, S.O. is almost done with an EP, and Shai Linne is spending time in the studio working on an album.

He said that Lamp Mode will also likely be announcing the signing of multiple new artists soon. When asked if they were from St. Louis, Json said,

“Lets just say they are from around.”

If you have been following Lamp Mode Recordings for a while, you may know that they used to release videos based on round table discussions called The Chopping Block. Though they haven’t released a chopping block video in a while, they will be having a The Chopping Block conference in March and will also be starting a podcast.

“We’ll be able to chop up different subject matter with different people. It won’t just be about theology but it’ll be about world issues, theological topics, [and] music. It will be a whole different thing, just a place to come chop it up.”
