In between releasing Foreign EPs, Json plans to release albums.
“Foreign will be the project that you’ll be like ‘Man, I want this!’ and then you’ll be like ‘Man, I also want the old J!’ and you’ll get that normal feel when I create albums.”
D. Hood and Dee On The Track produced the EP. Json said “They’ll produce and record and then me and a crew of my guys would get together, listen, come up with melodies, and the next thing you know, the hook is done. After that, I’d take the record, sit and ponder for a minute, and push myself in the creative process.”
One aspect about Json’s creative process is very different than that of other artists. He does not write down any lyrics. At all. “I typically write lyrics in my head and then I’ll record them.” During his earlier years of making music, he would write in the studio, but was challenged about that process by Japhia Life, a friend of his and fellow rapper.
“I can freestyle for hours so I tried it [recording without writing lyrics] and it felt real good.”
