Json says that Foreign, Vol. 1 doesn’t follow a particular theme. Rather, it is
“One of those project where I went to go, create, have fun, enjoy myself, and let the energy from the city that I’m feeling play out into the music.”
Foreign is volume one of a series that Json says will have a distinctive sound. “Its very trendy, feels like stuff that you hear on the radio.” Json is known for making music filled with transparency and emotional, but there will not be as much of that in the Foreign series.
“When you’re hearing Foreign projects, there’s a sound that will be distinctive to foreign. When you hear my albums, my albums will be what you’re used to hearing from me.”
Foreign will be more than a set of EPs. Json is also starting a Foreign clothing line and Foreign TV, videos connected to the idea of being foreign.
“Foreign really came from looking at believers and looking at who we are and saying, ‘There may not be an immediate distinction when you see us. You may not look too much different from your neighbor.’”
Json says that all Christians are foreigners, but you may not realize it until you get to know a person. “I think the scriptures would echo the reality that this [Earth] is not our home, this is not where we belong, so we’re foreigners.”
