Lamp Mode Recordings artist Json releases a video for Benjamin Button. This is the first video released from Json’s album Braille, which he dropped on June 18th.

The song is about growing up and maturing. He uses the film Benjamin Button as an analogy that while we can technically get older, that doesn’t always mean we are growing up. So the song is a call to mature not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and most importantly spiritually.

Ultimately, true maturity means bowing before the Creator of the universe and trusting in Christ to be reconciled to Him. That is true growth for all men and women.

The video was directed by Josh Wann of Scouts Honor Media Company. They employed a new technique called ‘lyric lapsing’ in which a series of pictures are taken to create the illusion of movement. It’s similar to stop motion photography, but mixed with time lapse. They chose this approach as a way to represent the movement of time, which is essentially what the song is about. For the performance shots with Json, each second of video took about 45 minutes to capture.
