Projects which inspired me are many. Classics such as Playdough’s Lonely Superstar, Lecrae’s Rebel, Flame’s Our World: Redeemed, and Social Club’s Rejects restored my hope that the art form known as Hip-Hop didn’t die within its horrible treatment of artists from the 2000’s and beyond. Then, there are the tracks which laid the foundation for my love instilled in this art. “Dear Hip-Hop” by Bizzle, “Don’t Waste Your Life” by Lecrae, “Joyful Noise” by Flame, and “Palm Sunday” by Playdough are a few which are always on constant replay day in and day out.
Joshua Galla – My CHH Testimony
The themes found in CHH represent one of the main drivers for understanding my faith details. How to be a better husband and overall male in our society. I’m instructed how to take my old life and flip it into a powerful testimony. Music to me is still an escape. A filter. Inspiration when frustrations and angry enter.
Freedom in Christ is accented by most artists who blaze Christian Hip-Hop (CHH). It’s projects such as those I mentioned and lyrics such as the ones I quoted which help me remain grounded in my faith. I feel encouraged that I can have “church” seven days a week through lyrical interpretations backed with solid production. I’m thankful for those cats which stand for God and give me the strength and confidence to represent His name while remaining buried in the 66 books of love God handcrafted for us to use as a standard for living.

Music is therapy for me now and forever
