Review by – Tiree Dean

I really enjoy the journey that Jor’dan takes you through. It sounds like a cinematic soundtrack in the sense that it has a story. It’s really fun and has a nice up tempo that is contagious. The message is really simple. Christians can have fun too!

LET HIM DO IT

“Let Him Do It” is a simple, fun, and hype song. The words are basically “let him do it.” The main theme of this song is to let God do what He wants. It isn’t super theological, but the song does communicate a simple truth of God’s sovereignty and how we should trust in Him. Also, it has a great summer-like atmosphere to it.

YOU SHOULD KNOW

In this song, Jor’dan is in some sense talking to God. He is telling Him that he is striving to be more like Him in every way. The message is wrapped in a package of soulful snaps and a thumping bass. It’ll have you dancing all night long.

CAME UP

This is probably one of my favorite songs on the album. The reason why is because this song tells a story. It tells a story of an artist pursuing excellence in his craft. It talks about the struggle that he faces while doing that in light of the Christian music industry. Also, the sample is amazing!

REAL ONE FT. IZ

This song here is fire! When I first heard it, I had to shake my tail feather! It has a very “bay area” type of sound. It makes sense since the album is taking you through a journey of California through the summer. Plus, the rap in this song was on point. It was fun, playful, and Godly.

I really enjoyed listening to this album. The lyricism isn’t complex, but it is simple enough for singability. It is a perfect soundtrack for the up and coming summer season. The only downside is that there isn’t a lot of change production wise within the music. Some sounds are repetitive. Overall this is a great record.
