Here is the schedule for the Cultural Engagement Track broadcasts (All Times Central)
Thursday. 10:15 AM -12:15 PM
Loving God, Engaging Culture: Theology for All of Life
Presenter: Vincent Bacote
Can we love God and the world? We live in a society where many people dive into the culture without much discernment while others flee cultural engagement under the guise of Christian faithfulness. This workshop invites us to discuss what Scripture teaches us about participation in God’s creation while taking seriously the reservations and concerns related to worldliness.
Thursday. 2:15-4:15 PM
CHH and The Glory of Christ: A Charitable and Critical Interaction with Current Methodology
Presenter: Brian Davis (God’s Servant)
There has been much dialogue and debate about the methodologies being championed in Christian Hip-Hop. There are a variety of artist doing things in a variety of ways. We will spend our time trying to think biblically about them, and trying to discern if there is a more “excellent way” when seeking to engage the culture with the gospel via Hip-Hop. Join us as we seeking to charitably evaluate and critically interact with the current popular CHH methodology.
Friday. 10:15 AM -12:15 PM
Less Church, and More Church
Presenter: Swift
What does it look like when the people of God fully engage the culture? We’re all familiar with the phrase “in it but not of it” and in this workshop we will unpack what this means. God willing we will all walk away with a fresh understanding of what it means to truly engage culture for the sake of the Gospel and be challenged to be more intentional about doing so.
Friday. 2:15 PM -4:15 PM
The Christian and the Arts Panel Discussion with Swift, Brian Davis (God’s Servant), No Malice and Thi’sl
Host: Wade-O
Let’s move away from the tweets, blogs and hearsay. Come and join in on an honest and healthy family discussion on the role of the Christian in the arts.
Which session are you looking forward to the most?
