Bio/Notes: When you hear the words “I had to hustle hard, never give up, never give up”, you often think about a dope dealer, pimp, or some type of street hustler. But in this case those are the words that are shouted from a rapper, producer, and street minister named Jacob Izrael (pronounced Iz-rah-yell). Hustle Hard is the slogan and theme that Jacob Izrael uses for spreading the Gospel (Good news) of YESHUA (Jesus Christ). Our society today is filled with so much negativity in the mainstream media, it almost seems like it’s the way life is supposed to be. The modern day church goers stop and stare at the so called sinners (drunkards, fornicators, thugs, and killers). They sit in their pews every Sunday and forget that it’s no longer about them but about a dying world . Jacob Izrael’s mission is to bring life and joy to a dying world through his lyrics and songs (Ephesians 5:19 ). That means reaching the streets by all means, even without a major record deal. Jacob Izrael, was born as Tredale L. McCullough in St.Petersburg, Florida. Just like a lot of inner-city kids, Jacob was raised by his grandmother. Due to a crack-cocaine habit that his mother once suffered , Jacob was forced to live with his father’s mother. Although Jacob was raised by his dad’s mother he rarely spent time with the man. Growing up in a household with no siblings was very hard at times for Jacob. Raised in a neighborhood where there’s constantly drug activity and acts of violence going on it’s almost impossible not to become a product of that environment. By the grace of GOD Jacob found no interest in the street life. Jacob had a thirst for something else, writing poetry. Jacob had a passion for writing poetry, until one day his sixth grade teacher told him that one of his poems had the potential of being a song. Already being amazed by rappers such as Rakim, Biz-Markie, and L.L. Cool J that made Jacob make up his mind what he wanted to do in life, emcee. In the early 90’s Jacob and a child hood friend formed a group called G.F.S. Although G.F.S. wasn’t your friendly gospel rap group, they shunned from bragging about selling dope and poppin’ pistols. The group would land their first recording contract in 1996 by a Label called F.L.A. Records/Jive Records. After being on the label for the course of two years the group G.F.S would split and part ways from the label. 1996 was also the year that Jacob would find himself in the Pinellas County Jail for assault/battery on School/state employee. Spending a short time in county would wake the youngster up. Slowly but surely three years later you could hear a change in Jacob’s lyrics. He was invited to a church in Tampa, Florida called Crossover Community operated by a pastor named Urban D aka Pastor Tommy. Immediately Jacob was amazed at what he had seen at church that night. A bunch of guys on stage rapping and break dancing for a guy named Jesus Christ. It was the Good news of YESHUA aka Jesus Christ what Jacob had heard that night. It was a seed planted in his life. From that point Jacob has been studying the WORD OF GOD (Holy Bible), following Gospel rap, growing spiritually himself, and Hustling the Gospel
