The truest thing about God is what He says about Himself, not what we think He is like. The truest thing about us is what God says about us, whether or not we believe it or “feel” it to be true. And sometimes God, in His freedom, allows or causes things to happen that may not make sense to us. Romans 11:33-36 puts it this way, “Oh what a wonderful God we have! How great are His wisdom and knowledge and riches! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His methods! For who among us can know the mind of the LORD? Who knows enough to be His counselor and guide? And who could offer to the LORD enough to induce Him to act? For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by His power, and everything is for His glory. To Him be glory evermore.”
God’s good includes everything He causes or allows to happen that He uses to conform us to His likeness. The good God shares with us is described in Romans 8:28-29. “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren.”
God brought us into His family, or called us to Himself, for this purpose. He wants to give us His own self, His nature, so that we will be conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ. What a gift of freedom from our sinful, self-centered nature. God’s good may not always look good as you read in John 9:1-3, “As Jesus was walking along, He saw a man blind from birth. Master, His disciples asked Him, why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents? Neither, Jesus answered. But to demonstrate the power of God.”
Ask yourself this question. Are you able to believe that everything God has allowed in your life was done in love for your good? Our vision is so temporary, but God’s vision is eternal. Through difficult times God is committed to our eternal good. This is why we need to see through the eyes of faith; through His eyes. God loves us, and this is why He is purging us from all of our deadness. The tremendous pain Christ endured on the cross is a necessary part of our redemption. We can either focus on the circumstance or we can focus on the Master of all circumstances.
His Eyes is my new single out featuring Benjah and I wrote this song while I was homeless, going from sleeping in my truck to sleeping in a Zumba Dance Studio that I would go in late at night and leave early in the morning. I know what it is like to not have any family around or not have any family support, I grew up this way. I know what it is like to not have any food and go hungry. I now what it is like to stink because you have no place to shower or do any laundry. And all of my earthly possessions can fit in the passenger seat of my truck. But I know that God has had a purpose for all of my hard times.
My faith has been getting stronger everyday. I cannot rely on my own strength but in God alone. I have been put in a place to where I am desperately dependent upon God and I need Him in every aspect of my life. I am here to love God, love others, and to testify to God’s Truth. His Eyes Official Music Video releases Wed. November 28, 2012. Grace and peace of our LORD Jesus.
