3. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon – If you’re an east coast person, then you likely haven’t seen enough of Mariota to justify a ranking this high. However, if you have seen the Ducks play this year, then you know that Mariota is the real deal. He’s a threat in the run game as well as the passing game in Oregon’s high-speed offense. Mariota’s passing numbers haven’t been great when compared to the other players on this list, but he’s no less effective. If the Ducks can win the Pac-12 title and secure a bid to the national title game, then Mariota’s name could shoot up the list on Heisman voters’ ballots.
