“Bare Trap” is a personal song on Pompeiio about sexual boundaries TJ had with an ex-girlfriend. “Just like any situation, there is temptation. There were physical boundaries that we tried to create and had the goal of creating, but temptation got the best of us and we crossed those boundaries.” He will not disclose what they did, but said that crossing the boundaries they had intended to keep took a mental toll on him because he know that he failed himself, his girlfriend, and God. “It just changed the relationship from that point forth and it was one of the main factors that led to us breaking up. I couldn’t get past it, mentally, spiritually, emotionally.”

Pompeo describes his musical sound as eclectic and diverse. “I never want people to guess what I’m going to come out with, what the next song is going to sound like on the album or they’re just gonna guess, ‘Oh, this song is probably gonna end up at three minutes and fifteen seconds, it’s just a good radio single.’”

TJ started rapping in high school at age fifteen. Many of his cousins rapped and got him into it. “Every time I would go up and visit them, they would tell me ‘Man, you’ve gotta try it, you’ve gotta do it. Give it a try, it is in the family blood.’” Pompeo thought that he was not going to be good enough, but they continued to encourage him, so he eventually tried it out. “At that point it was a no brainer. I fell in love with it. At first I sucked and I was super amateur. I didn’t even know how to rap on rhythm.”
