Gawvi a/k/a G-Styles builds with Lecrae. Creezy informs G that he has been looking for him.
“I sent an email out and didn’t get a response. Then I kept on going to every single Lecrae concert that was in town. Then after the third concert of giving out CDs of my beats, he recognized my name on it and said ‘G, I’ve been looking for you but every time you give me your CD you never put your contact information on it. Ha-ha, I always forgot and then we exchanged contact information and that’s how I got connected with Lecrae, Trip Lee, and everybody from Reach Records.” – Gawvi
Gawvi has the ability to create quality solo records like those that we have seen on his Proverbs 31 track. The popular producer had a season where he was mentored by platinum selling and Grammy award-winning musician Rodney Jerkins aka Darkchild (Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and more) while in California. He explains his development while being mentored by DarkChild and if there will ever be a Gawvi solo project.
“I really would love to do that, but I haven’t really figured out my sound yet. I’m capable of doing a lot as a producer. Right now, I’m focusing on a lot of albums. I was learning from him for like half a year, and I got to open my ears a lot to what the world wants to hear universally and hear in the states here, as far as radio. It was a great opportunity to be a sponge, and I got to be in the studio with a lot of artists I never thought I would be in a session with. I got to see a lot of things and he helped me out a lot. He is a great guy and I had a good season with him.” – Gawvi
