St. Louis, Missouri artist FLAME has released his highly anticipated 9th album, God Knows. He has said that it will be his most personal album yet. The album features KB, Bizzle, Mike Real, V. Rose, and others. He is known for being an advocate for Christian hip-hop and this album is very much Christ centered. The production is hard hitting and breaks boundaries for Christian hip-hop being excellent!
Accompanying the album release is a music video for his second song “Swimming With Sharks.”
You can get God Knows on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Listen to some of the songs on our What’s New in Christian Hip-Hop playlist on Spotify.
Definitely a good album except for the overload on autotune and it really wasn’t all that personal IMO. Look back at his old albums and they’re way deeper on some of the subjects.
I’m still a fan of the (voice, that original voice), the one that introduced me to Flame, Rewind, Our World 1 & 2, then Captured. I bought this as more of a dedicated fan, as opposed to getting the Gospel, but I’m having a hard time hearing what is the %personal deep meaning”. That could be said of a lot of the guys how once spoke about Christ more than their feelings or situations.
No hate intended.
I agree it’s a good album, but still a bit of a disappointment. Flame is known for bringing poignant commentary to today’s “hot topics”. And given all of the craziness that’s going on right now, you would think that this would produce some of his best work. But this one was kinda light. I could be wrong, but it just doesn’t seem like he was writing from a place of conviction on this one.
