FLAME had so much to say on Forward that he only had one hip-hop feature. In each song he wants to build a case for the overall message of the album.

“Move Forward” is a song from his new album relating to the 1900s. It is partially inspires by J. Gresham Machen, a theologian who fought against Christian liberalism in that time period. The Enlightenment period changed the way a lot of people thought about the world and especially religion, and some Christians wanted to do away with fundamental doctrines. FLAME believes that there are parallels between that time period and the present.

“I said ‘Let me connect these dots between these different time periods so I can encourage the Christian. We don’t have to panic. We don’t have to fear. We know the Bible story; we know that we win, the gospel will prevail, but we need to be standing firm, not compromising, and presenting the gospel clearly.’”
