3. Trip Lee. I used to lead a Bible study in a juvenile detention center. The teens in that facility loved Trip Lee’s first album, If They Only Knew. I probably purchased that album at least 10 times for that reason. When I think about emcees that combine skill, theology, and a commitment to excellence, Trip Lee is certainly high on this list. I would love to go through my neighborhood handing out free music by another Reach Records artist. The same could be said for Tedashii.
Five More Mixtapes I’d Like to See

My favorite is Jahaziel’s ‘The Still Livin’ Mixtape’ he’s a great rapper and really preachy which I like and is something I would give to others. S.O.’s ‘So It Begins,’ Young Chozen’s ‘Night Light Mixtape,’ MC Jin’s ‘Crazy Love Ridiculous Faith’ and City Lights ‘From Basements to skyscrapers are my top 5 favorite free projects. The 116 Clique guys past and present need to get together and make a mixtape. That’d be the best mixtape ever.
