[column]Dwight Junior released his fourth project, a mixtape called Runaway, on February 5th. He thought of the name when he was in college, before the death of his mother, after which he had greater motivation to write. The title relates to a person running away from something, such as their problems in life, as well as saying that such a person is a runaway.
Dwight’s runaway was moving to Columbus, Ohio, where he went to bible college.

“When I got here, God was here. Thinking, ‘Oh, you’re gonna run from me. There’s still stuff that you’ve gotta deal with and you’ve gotta grow.’”
“I want to give a safe place for people who feel like runaways in everyday life. They face this, they don’t know how to face this, and they’re living in doubt. They’re living in a struggle, they’re settling for being complacent…”
One of his favorite songs on the project is “Oh, Let’s Runaway.” Dwight Junior says it is the part of his album’s story about mending and healing. “Coming back to ‘God, I’m sorry that I ran away.’ Like the prodigal son coming home and having a party thrown for him.” It is a reflection of choosing to live with a relationship with God.
