JTH: Did either one of you get a ticket for your hoop wardrobe?
Bobbito: Ha ha. My gear is correct! Remember, I wrote a book titled Where’d You Get Those? New York City’s Sneaker Culture: 1960-1987 (10th Anniversary Edition drops end of November by the way), so I know the rules of the playground well, ha-ha!
Kevin: Ha-ha, never – even if I didn’t grow up in NYC, I was always trying to match my shoes & shorts. Never liked playing with NBA jerseys or with accessories (smiles)!
JTH: One guy that got you on the court during the shooting? Anyone that really just shook you something serious?
Bobbito: Kevin and I played 1-on-1 the whole summer. He shook me plenty times! I hate guarding him, hahahaha. You can see highlights of him crossing me up left and right all throughout our film. (Digital download/stream available at www.doinitinthepark.com)
Kevin: Ha-ha, we had some fierce battles, Bobbito & I – but one night we played at Macombs Dam Park in the Bronx, and those High School kids were so fast and tiny, with great handle, that we couldn’t play on their pace. #gettingold
