The album artwork of The Roar has cause some conflict and Datin has received some negative feedback on it. “The lion is staring down the barrel of a gun, yet he is still roaring. The lion is a representation of the church, the body of Christ, and what we should be doing.” There is also a man with a suit holding a pistol to the head of the lion. “Its almost safe to assume that he is clean cut, he’s well presented, kind of like Satan who masquerades as an angel of light. He represents the enemy that is trying to hinder the church.”

“In the face of death, in the face of persecution, in the face of trials and tribulations, we should roar just like that lion.”
The name The Roar and its acronym originally came from a friend of Datin who was attempting to make a T-shirt brand and was looking for a cool message to put on a shirt. His friends apparel line goals didn’t work out, and they invested the money into music.
He started working on The Roar in Fall 2012, and in Summer 2014 it was announced that Datin had become signed to God Over Money records. Once he got signed, many producers reached out to work with him, and from those collaborations he had completed almost thirty songs. Out of those, he selected fourteen songs to be on his album.
His favorite song on the album is “Hallelujah All Day” and boldly speaks about the persecution of Christians.
