Recently, the whole DaSouth Society got together to talk about the future of their media platform.  On July 7, 2013, it was announced that JamTheHype.com acquired DaSouth.com, creating one of the biggest and broadest media platforms for the Christian Hip Hop market.  Jam The Hype is known for having the No. 1 syndicated radio show in Christian Hip Hop, “Jam The Hype with Chris Chicago,” which airs weekly on over thirty FM stations around the world and reaches tens of thousands of listeners per week.  DaSouth.com is a CHH powerhouse that has been one of the genres top websites for over 12 years.  Bobby Herring (“Tre9”) and Aziz Peregrino-Brimah (“Zee”) are the former owners of DaSouth.com, both deciding to pursue other ministry-related endeavors and are still content contributors to the site.

Derek Hoiem and Chris Chicago, who manage and produce JamTheHype.com, are excited to provide the broad-based platform they have created for one of music’s fastest-growing genres, Christian Hip Hop.  The two have enlisted a slew of industry professionals to make DaSouth run at the highest level possible.  Many of DaSouth’s fans have been wondering what the site is planning for the future, being there are so many changes.  DaSouth has provided answers to some of your questions through the first Town Hall Meeting, interviews, and more.  Here at DaSouth, we want to continue giving you updates on what we have brewing.

In DaSouth’s second Town Hall Meeting, DaSouth Society spoke on a new logo/branding, shirts, new direction/categories of the site, a Flavor Fest video stream, and much more.  One of the things DaSouth Society is aiming to do is combine their two media platforms (DaSouth.com & JamTheHype.com) together as a super site.  Jam The Hype introduced the radio tuner at the top of the current DaSouth.com site and have already made changes to certain aspects of its structure, but there is more to come.

We are launching a 24/7 online TV/video network with original programming that includes shows, interviews, music videos, and more.  JTH & DaSouth are aiming to cover areas beyond their cornerstone of music news like Theology/Religion/God, Artistry (including a revamped Producer’s Corner), a new revamped Latino section, Movies & TV, Fashion/Sneakers/Threads, Sports, Cars/Rides, Radio, Technology/Gadgets, Videogames, and Lifestyle in general.

JTH and DaSouth are going to come together under the Jam The Hype umbrella, with DS essentially being the music news portal.  Jam The Hype will be adopting the slogan “The Life In Hip Hop,” the catch phrase people loved from DaSouth.

Another endeavor that the new and improved Jam The Hype brand is aiming to embark on is consistently making high quality compilations and events available to the public.  The Jam The Hype compilation will include heavy hitters like FLAME, Je’kob, Ruslan & Beleaf of theBREAX in two separate solo tracks, Spec, Canon, V-Rose, and more.  The tracklist will be coming out VERY soon.
